Gionee made headlines when it launched the world's slimmest smartphone Elife S 5.5 during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The company claims it is the best engineered product and this slim warrior also boasts of many other features.
Build and Design:
It is available in a number of colours. The first thing that strikes the users about this phone is its super sleek form factor. It looks like a bar of chocolate. Amazingly it has reduced the thickness of 5.5mm which is extra slim body made of thin aluminium metal that holds everything and squeezed in powerful hardware components in it. It sports a unibody design thus the battery can't be removed. With its Corning Gorilla Glass protection to guard against scratches and this metal chassis looks and feels premium to hold and also solidly built due to use of materials like glass and magnesium alloy. It weighs 130 grams. The users will surely be impressed by its built quality and design.

Display:
It sports a 5inch full HD super AMOLED display which features a pixel density of 441ppi. The display is not very reflective and features good viewing angles. The black levels are very good and the display looks gorgeous. Brightness levels are great and there is no problem in using the phone in sunlight. Its one of the most gorgeous displays we have seen and its a strong point for the phone.
Software:
It runs on Gionee's customised Amigo UI skinned on top of android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Camera:
It’s hard to believe a manufacturer squeezed 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera(95 degree wide lens) in such a slim body. Colour reproduction was reasonably accurate and close up shots were good.The front camera clicks good quality selfies and is great for video chats. It has included 2 custom camera apps-Camera and CharmCam.
Performance:
It is powered by octa core processor and 2GB RAM. It comes with 2300 mAh battery, 16GB storage. It offers good call quality and signal reception and loud sound output.
                    The phone's headline is its slim feature and sleek form and premium fit and finish.It looks more expensive than what its priced at.In terms of performance the phone has good potential.
The phone is a good buy if the users are looking for a phone that looks good and gives a reason to boast about !!
