| HTC Desire 310 |
The HTC Desire 310 is the smartphone which aims to combine good
experience with enticing price point. Does it succeed? Let us review!!
Hardware~ The device is pedestrian in terms of looks. The front design
is basically only the display and the elements above the screen, an HTC logo
below the 4.5 inch panel. The phone makes use of onscreen controls. On the top
there's a fresh feel-there's an earpiece grill in blue shade thus complementing
the black colour of the rest of the front. At the right side is the power key, volume
rocker, at the top 3.5 m audio jack, micro USB port. It measures 132.4*68*11.3 mm,
with 140 grams weight-its small enough to slip into pockets and very light too.
At the back of the the HTC logo is engraved with a camera module towards the
top. The device hardly catches any fingerprints at all, thus the choice of
materials used in the handset is very satisfactory. The back of phone sits well
on the hand and the soft touch of the plastic feels really great in hand. The
phone is a good mix of average looks and above average ergonomics.
Software~ It runs a cut down version of Sense UI 5.1 with android 4.2.2
OS. It is possible to scroll over to lockscreen widgets on the side. In the home
screen, the users can get access to 4*4 grid of icons with a row of quick
access buttons at the button. The onscreen control buttons slide away during
the viewing of multimedia content in order to maximise screen space. It gets
Blinkfeed which lets users to scroll through the newsfeed or social channels
right from the home screen. There's lots of customisation option, so that users
can select the grid size in apps drawer for more dense information view.
Performance~ The device is powered by 1.3GHz processor paired with 1 GB of RAM-the quad
core is powerful enough for average usage. The phone is positively smooth
throughout the interface.
Display~ is a 4.5 inch TFT panel, resolution 480*854. A part of screen
is used for onscreen controls. Pixel density is 218 ppi.
Camera~ is 5 MP.
Battery life~Though its just a 2000mAh,it delivers well with a day of
usage time.Users will be able to expand the inbuilt 4GB of storage upto 32GB
via microSD card.

The phone thus can be best termed as a workhorse.Its a reliable phone that will
survive through the day but still will have enough power left for an evening
out too.The performance is good enough to do anything users desire of it !!
