Videcon A55 HD
Videocon, which is considered as a late bloomer in the Indian smart phone market, has started taking the Smartphone business very seriously in the recent month and thus is slowly catching up and launching affordable products with amazing features and slowly creating its mark in the Indian markets. Keeping in line with this, it has recently launched Videocon A55 HD and entered the 5inch phablet market. The phone is a sleek, smart device coming with specs of high premium end devices at budget price. Let us now check out whether this is a potent contender in the budget smart phone segment or a fringe player and can compete with the other mid range quad core models in the market!
1) Hardware-It sports a 5inch OGS display screen with HD (1280*720)p resolution and 294ppi pixel density. It runs on 1.2GHz quad core processor with 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and 32GB microSD card support. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, wifi, bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB.Its powered by 2000mAh battery. Camera specifications include 8MP rear camera, LED flash and front camera of 3.2MP.
2) Design-It has a curved design, metal grille on both sides and glossy back. The phone looks very beautiful in hand and feels good to touch!
The power key, earphone jack, microUSB port is at the top, volume rocker is on the left. The back panel consists of primary camera, LED flash and logo of the company. Below the display is present 3 touch sensitive android keys~home, back and options. There is also a change in the layout of android keys of this new device. The options key remains in this phone while the task switcher appears when the user long presses the home key, which otherwise gives the digital voice assistant google now.
3) Software-It runs on android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.It has its own apps store and a few pre-loaded apps. With stock android, its a smooth performer, thus the user will like the experience.
4) Performance-The screen is beautifully done and the display uses One Glass Solution (OGS) technology which melds the touch sensor and protective layer as also increases the level of light transmittance in screens.
Thus the display is much brighter, with deeps blacks and excellent bright colours. the viewing angles and contrast is of superior quality, This display quality is the phone's distinguishing factor !
The 8MP camera can capture good outdoor photos, with detailing and natural colours. The 2000mAh battery of the phone keeps it working for about 14hours.
It can be concluded from the above discussion that this phone is one of the better options among the sub Rs 15000 phablets. It has all the features of a good performer design and screen quality are its two greatest strengths. Its battery and camera is also decent.
