The Elife E7 is Gionee's first flagship phone that is aimed at the premium high end segment of the market. Gionee is less than a year old in India but it has consistently delivered impressive smartphones. At a glitzy launch affair,India finally took notice of an otherwise unknown smartphone maker trying to make a mark in the market.The launch was a grand affair and this is Gionee's reply to high end androids from giant companies but with very affordable price tag.But can a new brand like Gionee can bring confidence in the high end consumer with its hardware and software package. Let us discuss about  it.
It follows a completely new design philosophy. The monolithic design has a unibody,poly carbonate cell which is available in a variety of colours. The phone has a slight curve on the back that makes the phone look slimmer and provides a ergonomic grip.The body is strong with a handy built.The whole phone is made from a single piece of plastic on the back and the sides and sheet of glass covers the front. The unibody is of very high quality and has a glossy finish with a graphite texture that reflects from the inside under light.This is finer as also a sturdy phone.The plastic is very dense and users will feel confident that it can take a good beating.The glossy on finish on the rear is a fingerprint magnet.The phone is incredibly slim and light and wont weight much in the user's pocket.
Since the phone is sturdy its thicker and heavier and thus this strength is an attribute!It measures 9.2mm and its thickest point and its weight is 150gms.It is big because of its phablet sized screen,but its not at all bulky and the slightly curved back easily fits the hand and the glossy finish leads a smooth ad comfortable feel.It has a long and narrow body ,with 6.2mm at its thinnest point and the thin 2.3mm bezels.
The phone is entirely covered by glass in the front (gorilla glass 3 by corning) under which lies the 5.5inch 1080p full HD display IPS LCD from JDI,a Japanese display manufacturer and displays great contrast and brightness, and is great in contrast and brightness and sharp with 480ppi which offers great viewing angles and it has rich colours and is great while watching videos, reading or browsing web pages.The IPS panel does a great job at delivering lively colours and sharp text. Viewing angles and sunset legibility are also good. The display is best as we have seen so far.Auto brightness works well and gets bright in sunlight so outdoor visibility is very good and less reflectibility.
What catches the spotlight in this device is the camera. It is one of the first devices to have an Omnivision OV1685 16MP sensor with a big lens unit,it takes detailed images with minimal noise and does full HD video recording with exceptional quality.The 8MP front camera gives the device a cutting edge.The user can capture super quality selfies as also can connect high quality video calls.There are many modes as HDR,panorama,night,v sign etc.The focus speed is also pretty quick.
The phone comes in 2 variants-one with 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM and the other 32GB storage and 3GB RAM.Both are powered with 2.2GHz quadcore qualcomm snapdragon 800 processor. And adreno 330 GPU as the graphics unit.The processor among the fastest available in smartphones these days so multitasking is easy!The phone is powered by android 4.2 OS and a very good battery backup.

At this price its truly a fantastic phone! For its gorgeous display ,top class hardware and best camera, this device is highly recommended!

HTC Nexus 9 Tablet Such a device does not come cheap, but would you still be interested in a nexus tablet even if its priced more?
